Ukraine Eco Transformation: knowledge for everyone

3. 6. 2020,

Ukraine Eco Transformation is an online environmental conference with international guests, which will take place on June 5, on World Environment Day. The conference will be the final event of the Econline Marathon, which started on April 15. International experts will participate in the conference, sharing their expertise in combating air pollution. Martin Skalsky, the director of Czech NGO Arnika – Centre for Citizens’ Support will speak about citizen campaigns for clean air in the Czech Republic, and Jachym Brezina from the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute will talk about how air pollution is monitored in the Czech Republic. The organizers have also invited a special mystery guest, who will be revealed a day before the conference.

It is no coincidence that the conference will feature Czech experts, since the event is organized as a part of the “Clean Air for Ukraine” project in cooperation with the Czech NGO Arnika, which is funded by the Transition Promotion Programme of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Endowment for Democracy fund.

“In Ukraine, there are many activists doing great work to protect their environment from air pollution. Air pollution is a major problem here, as shown by the WHO statistics. The Czech Republic has faced similar issues in the past as Ukraine is facing today, and we hope that by sharing our expertise, we will help our Ukrainian friends to effectively combat air pollution and achieve a clean and healthy environment,” said Pavlina Filippovova, the coordinator of the “Clean Air for Ukraine” project.
